Wat Perpignan-feiten:
The Kodak prize for young photographer went to Pep Bonet, represented by Grazia Neri and Vu, for his story "Faith In Chaos, Sierra Leone." He receives 7,500 euro for his efforts and future endeavors.
Pep Bonet
The CARE International Grand Prize for Humanitarian Reportage, which came with an 8,000 euro grant, was awarded to Florence Gaty for her story "The Ulcer of Beruli."
Ami Vitale won the Canon Female Photojournalist Prize and 8,000 euro grant for "Kashmir, A Troubled Paradise," presented by L'Association de Femmes Journalistes. She will be required to complete the project within one year and will present her work at the 2004 Visa.
And scared." "I'd much rather be in Kashmir than in front of a big audience. It's much less dangerous." En daarna is het: back to Europe, to stay.
